Hello there, I wanted to start off this blog with an introduction of my Clan. My name is Nikita or Kita for short, on my social media accounts I prefer to go by Pyewacket or Piawacket.
I am the product of two retired Air Force. My mom was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Ohio along with 3 brothers and one sister. I have a very special bond to my mothers parents. No matter the distance or the time between calls we have always been very close. My father is one of 4 boys, who were raised in Racine, Wisconsin. I have a younger sister whom we will call Kay with a three year difference between us. We were station in Midden Hall, Britain for 8 years before returning state side to Arkansas. My favorite place is Mt. View with bluegrass music and the simple, laid back ,little community surrounded by the beautiful Ozark Mountains. I love nature wishing I could spend more time in such a scenic, loving, earthy, setting. I studied acting, singing, radio broadcasting, and television productions. To which I confess I have done nothing with. I also took an interest in Cosmetology. Sadly I did not pursue this goal either, but one day when the time allows would like to return to working with my Loctitians license or a senior center where I feel most at home, with like minded souls. I meat my husband Bryan during my senior year in high school. We have been together for over 13 years and share 6 amazing kiddos together. I never dreamed of living the large family life, but it has become my passion. I simply adore the sound of pitter pattering little feet, the endless laughter, and the bond a large family brings. We have had our bumps and curves in this timeless adventure called life, to which we always come out stronger and more passionate.
Our oldest Sebastian is (12), he gave me the biggest purpose in life, during a time of doubt and darkness. My first blessing. He loves to play soccer and is the biggest of help with his siblings and life in general.
Second came my wild child Fox (10), whom I call my Little Fox or most often Walter. He was originally named after a grandfather of my husbands. Ironically, his sporadic behavior and my love of the show Fringe added to my love of calling him Walter (Walter Bishop).
Next was Declan (9). I love the movie Leap Year and Declan is such a kindred spirit, full of witty charm. He's my more serious of children and most logical, yet artistic of fellows. I gave him the nickname Declan Mongrel for his tough fighting spirit as a baby. He was slow to develop, to which we later realize was due to aspirating his milk into his airways instead of digesting to his stomach. This little guy has been through so much, but it never slows him down. He loves to give endless cuddles and loves to help cook.
Our next took us by surprise, a sweet, viciously (in a good way) precious girl. My Clementine (5) our currently only girl. I love calling her my Clementiny. She is such a tiny spitfire of personality and for sure the boss of the rest. She is all about girl, with a love of pink, purple, ponies, and kittens.
Our magic number five Is Quentin Tolkien (3) named after the show The Magicians, and my love of Lord of the Rings. This kiddo is something else, always attached to momma, has a profound love of turtles along with Declan. Kiddo can't get enough of dinosaurs, baby shark, or Aquaman. Seriously he'd watch all day if he could. He has the most upbeat, spunky little personality, with contagious light up rainbow bright eyes.
Our newest member and little adventurer to the HelmsClan is Little Lincoln (4 months) always smiling and the loudest of the pack. Our kiddos love to play soccer, watch horror movies with their dad, hiking, Pokemon, gaming, adventures, building.
My husband and I have a dream of setting up a self reliant Homestead, everday we get closer and closer to that dream. We currently have chickens and my precious pot belly pig Charlotte. We have land that we are working towards having a home built. In all the years I have taken up several hobbies, besides birthing children, haha. I love baking cakes, I love animals we have had ferrets, and many reptiles over the last few years, having started a collection of exotics for Medusa's Herps.
I also have a love for alternative beauty, myself having gauges and dreadlocks (10 years running). I homeschool my children this year marks 6 years.
I have been knitting/crocheting since high school, I love crafting for babies and things for the kids. I am the proud owner to Neurotic Gypsy Designs. I decided to start this blog in hopes of sharing our little world with others. As a diary to myself, my kiddos. Marking our biggest adventurers, our progress, and most of all maybe some insight, tips/tricks for other large families out there. I look forward to sharing building a house, a homestead, raising a family, and all the while continuing to find myself through this blog.
