Homemade Laundry Detergent

Through my 13 plus years as a mom and housewife my husband and I have come up with ways of cutting the cost of our family expenses. Our detergent was one, as you can imagine I do a lot of laundryfor a family of 8. From my husbands work clothes to having boys, and soccer clothes, a princess always changing clothes and a slobbery, blow out baby from time to time detergent gets pricey. I generally do about 4-6 loads of laundry a week. Spending $20 on sports tide was the routine each month. After searching around I found a recipe from the wellness momma that I love. At a time when we were down to one income and trying to save money as well as keep clean, and save for our own home. I can now spend under $20 for six months before having to go and restock on supplies. I have also started using my essential oils a few drops here or there on each dryer ball. If I leave a load in the dryer and need a quick dry to warm or unwrinkle a few clothes I quickly add a few drops, set to speed dry and go.

Here's Homemade Recipe

1 cup baking soda

1 cup washing powder

1 bar of fels-naptha

10-12 drop of lavender, chamomile, orange essential oils

I chop up the fels-naptha then combine all the ingredients in my food processor. Blend and done Easy Peasy.

1 Table spoon for a small load

2 Tablespoon for a big load

Washing whites

Add and extra 1 tablespoon of washing powder to keep whites white.

for towels I add vinegar as my softener in the washer.

My Homemade Shout recipe ( Stain Remover)

1 tablespoon dawn dish soap

2 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide

1 tablespoon baking soda

1/2 cup vinegar

2 tablespoon salt

2 tablespoon borax

fill the rest of spray bottle water in spray bottle
