Look mom, Aeroplane!

Today is Saturday, which for my family is a pretty busy day. My husband and I started our usual daily routine of doing our paper routes. Lucky for us we didn't get rained on. For a paper delivery person, rain is never any fun unless it's a light sprinkle during the hot summer months, helping to keep you cool. We take this time to discuss our days, the kids, and life in general. Our personal time together, while doing a little cardio, plus a little extra income which we are putting towards our future Homestead and extra for spending money for Christmas for our family.

Saturdays are also days that my parents get to spend time with the kiddos one on one, or with a small group. They have fun making bird houses, learning about gun safety, riding dirt bikes, and love earning a little spending money with helping around their house.

Today was Clementine and Quentin's turn to have a little adventure without the older boys. Their outing consisted of the Air Force Base to look at the aeroplanes and take a small walk on the trail around the lake.

The rest of the day consists of working on the yard, laundry, shopping at the TSC for chicken, and pig food. Might try to convince my husband for a need of more chicks (an addiction on mine). I love watching them roam around the back yard like little dinosaurs.

My eldest Sebastian is looking to start a small business selling eggs and breeding chickens. He generally tends to the chickens, while Declan and Fox tend to the 11 turtles we have. We also need to pick up supplies to make a new chicken tractor for the coming colder months.

Here's a picture of Declan holding Little Lincoln. Declan has always had an interest in his younger siblings, but has always been more standoffish due to their unpredictability, the loudness of babies, and plus babies will randomly cry for no reasons at times.

Poor kiddo takes it to heart that they don't like him. Well last night before my husband got home, Declan was on the floor playing with Lincoln and asked if he could be shown how to pick him up and hold him. This kiddo is beaming with pride on learning to pick up his younger sibling and getting to walk around with him. This is a big step for Declan and I'm ecstatic to see him take an interest, watching him take every chance he can to carry him.

Our night will be completed with my husband heading to put papers together for Sunday morning. At Home I'll get dinner done, kids to bed, a little knitting time , then up early for delivering papers in the morning, night feedings, more knitting time. As they say rinse and repeat. How do you spend your weekends with your tribe?
