Hello, sorry for the absence in posting. Last week my family got to enjoy having my husband around due to him being on vacation. It's been a little different this year with husbands schedule changing. My Husband Bryan use to work for the Local paper as a district manager until the company Arkansas Democrat Gazette made cutbacks due to not having enough subscribers, along with slowly switching over to a digital service, they just don't need x amount of employees when the paper is now easily accessible online. So our family went through a trial of adjustments. My husband and myself started our paper routes until my husband could find something else. Last year in July he started working for DHL. He loves the travel he does going between Russellville on most days through to Conway, Mayflower on other days that he assists other drivers. Each day is a new adventure, mostly regulars that he does pick ups from. Every evening he tells us of his adventures to homesteads, farms, businesses. He takes a lot of pictures or farm land, flooding during the huge flood a few months back and the set up of his customers. Slowly through his adventures we are getting to know local homesteaders, they setup, what works what doesn't and add them to our dream plan of our own homestead.
During husbands 9 days off we got quiet a bit done. I got to go through and spruce up the house and the corners I don't normally get to get to. We through the old baby clothes so I could toss out many of the ones I've been holding on too for way too long like 12 years too long. Mostly for the memories of the three oldest boys having worn them. I love bringing them out each baby we've had and shifted through them with the anticipation of a new arrival. Well the is momma I'll admit got pretty teary eyed but finally let them go. Kept the ones that were stain free and had the most memories but the rest left. (Personal note so glade I don't bottle feed anymore, bottle formula is the worst stain to get out of everything.)
My husband and two oldest boys got to work on a few of our vehicles, by putting new belts on, rotated tires and did all the fun maintenance while teaching the kiddos how. Having some time to talk and get dirty.
The kids biggest thrill came from getting to visit with my husbands family. These kiddos love getting to go to grandma Bob (Lisa) Oldest started this and it's stuck. So all the kiddos have naturally picked up on calling grandma Bob.
Even though last week had so many cloudy and showers we were able to go on an adventure. Saw some pretty amazing sights, and lasting memories. The kids favorite was within an hours drive to Hot Springs. We toured the The Cresent Hotel, a few local stores and springs. The kids personal favorite was The Mid America Science Museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We also visited The Natural History Museum of Austin Texas.
