So this weekend I decided it was time to buckle down and get things done. With the colder seasons approaching the kiddos wardrobes need to be switched out. Instead of waiting until it's bone chilly outside. I have a habit of putting it off as long as possible. Then before I know it I have 5, wait now 6 to get ready for therapy and here we are all dressed in short sleeves and tanks. Not this year. I'm trying my best to get ahead of the weather and become organized like I was two kids ago. This momma is needing to get things straightened out., instead of constantly feeling stressed out. In one of the kiddos bedroom closets all the off season clothes and kiddos old sizes not currently being worn reside. It is an overwhelming task to say the least.
My oldest Sebastian has a few hand me downs still a few sizes bigger than that of what he is currently wearing, but each season we go through and check to see what new things will be needing to be purchased. Then to box away the sizes that are too small, because my next kiddo still has a bit of growing to do. Fox and Declan my Irish twins both wear the same size. Luckily that size I have the most clothing for. My boys tend to get to the age of 8-10 where they suddenly have favorite clothes that they constantly wear until they can no longer be used. Or since they are boys they destroy then through everyday play. I can't tell you how many pairs of pants Fox alone has blown out the knees on due to his rough housing, and never ending movement. Then to box away their smaller clothes due to the next in line is miss Clementine. With her being the only girl my grandmother sends down a few of my much younger cousins hand me downs. Plus my mother likes to buy pretty dresses that she finds on her outings. She has clothes stored away that will need some growing as well as her smaller clothes, just in case. Quentin having the age gap between him and the two older boys need a whole wardrobe switcheroo. Little Lincoln is also in the same boat especially with his fast paced little growth spurts.
Naturally I had clothes in practically in every location, living room sofas, bedrooms, kitchen floor, dinning rooms table and chairs, everywhere. Our rental house has really bad drafts so all the clothes also get to go through the wash before being worn. Another chore in itself. We have a black bag stationed at our backdoor for clothes that need tossing, a bag near the front that will get donated. Once that bag is filled off it goes to aid others. So the entire weekend consisted of sorting clothes, washing, and creating a new system of stashing the newly out of use clothing. The one chore I dread each season. Luckily as the kiddos get older they are able to left the workload making so much easier a task to manage. Over the next week I'll slowly finish up washing loads and finish having them placed in the kiddos drawers.
